They arrive on the planet, learn how to reach Koholint, and sail on a wooden ship to the island. Along the way they're caught in a storm and thrown overboard; they landed on Koholint and met up with Az and Anubis. They're told to find eight instruments so that they can leave the island, but a coyote named Mermus appears trying to gather them first.

			Later Mermus attacks a village, and when the YBs arrive to stop him they find he is being helped with versions of the YBs from an opposite universe. Chibi's counterpart acted like a zombie, trying to take her flesh. Chibi defeated her when she threw a marshmallow at her. Later Anubis reappeared after disappearing, and came bearing the last six instruments. Chibi placed the Lily's Bell on her head and they went up the mountain to leave the island.

Unfortunately, the party was interrupted by [[Metal Top]], who used a speech Peach gave to awaken the Beanstar. It then raised Peach's Castle into the sky with a giant version of itself and used the Beanstar to become invincible and blast the YB out of the castle. To defeat Metal Top, the YBs traveled to [[Star Haven]] to get the Star Rod, but found it had been shattered. This sent them on a journey to rebuild it from the shattered fragments.
