- This story follows the events after Grodus Rising, of which Ripvor was a guest star.
- The events of King Top are mentioned when Sub first appears.
- Ripvor would later return in The Great Creator and The Great Destroyer, still in the Beanbean Kingdom. Accordiono and I.M. Ugly would also return in the story, but now in The Mushroom Kingdom.
