Shadow Creatures are, as their name implies, creatures of shadow. They range in various sizes (from feeble, to strong, to large), and are usually purple. They also seem to like hats. Most, if not all, are skilled in dark magic, and in fact are said to be born from dark magic. They apparently all come from, and most reside in, the Shadow Dimension. They were once all ruled by a Shadow Monarchy, but the monarchy was destroyed and they became more of a democracy (although it isn't stated if they have an actual form of government or not in their dimension).

Trivia

• The name "Shadow Creature" was coined by Topmonhit, as it is never specifically stated in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door what their species name is, and in fact Super Mario Wiki lists their species as simply "Shadow".
